Ride Description
Fender Benders is a classical family bumper car ride. Riders
either driver or are the passenger in the bumper car. The cars travel in a
counter-clockwise motion bumping into the other cars in a 90X30ft building.
Ride History
Fender Benders open mid-season 2012. Fender Benders is built
on the site of the Evolution ride (1999-2002) which was also built on the old
home of the Super Round Up (Swashbuckler) ride. The area of the now Fender
Benders remained vacant after the removal of Evolution. Fender Benders is Six
Flags Great Adventure’s forth bumper car ride. Traffic Jam was the first built
in 1974 and also the world’s largest bumper car ride. Traffic Jam closed in
1992 due to a winter storm destroying most of the ride station. In 1975 a
second bumper car ride was added called Skooter but closed in 1987. Also in
1987, Skooter was renamed Fender Benders but ultimately closed for the Batman
Stunt Areana. In 1994 a third bumper car ride was built called the Autobahn in
the Old Country section. Autobahn closed in 2008 with the section. The now
Fender Benders is a brand new ride bought from Bertazzon, Italy.
